“Where should I head to for the day?” 🤔
Sabrina’s animated expressions and cosy bedroom made this the most theatrical shoot I have ever done. If this was a musical, the description would be “quirky, playful and light-hearted!”
A lazy Sunday morning with @sabrinakarlin looks like this: Sipping coffee in pyjamas, reading books in bed and taking care of the plants! 🌱
The devil is in the details~ 🦋 Tap and swipe!
As my time in college draws to a close, I am finally coming to terms with my imminent future as a young professional. While it is comfortable to reside in the familiar environment of academic ivory towers, the real world poses significant problems and responsibilities that demand our full and immediate attention. I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to spend my undergraduate years in one of the most diverse and creative cities of the world. This bustling metropolis is unparalleled in its ability to attract talented individuals from around the country and the globe. Everyday, I am inspired by the unquenchable drive, invigorated by the immense energy and humbled by the sheer force of will displayed by my fellow urban dwellers. Ironically enough, concrete jungles that represent the peaks of civilization seem to feed on our most primitive survival instincts. Yet, nowhere else will teach you more than this asphalt terrain built on the blood, sweat and tears of inhabitants - immigrants or locals - with starry-eyed dreams. Weathering its brutal winters has taught me to withstand the strongest winds. Walking down its rough streets has primed me to be more vigilant to potential danger. Being enveloped by throngs of anonymous strangers has sharpened my ability to discern authenticity from artifice. Streets are the greatest social levellers, where the sunken and shifty eyes of the impoverished living on the streets meet the hungry and jaded gazes of suited men out for ever more gold. There is no logic to guide your way for the city presents possibilities beyond your wildest imaginations. Always prepare to be surprised, they said. It is both empowering and terrifying to know that your reality can shift between extremes in the matter of an instant. Here, the only thing standing between you and your goals is a packed calendar and a good pair of shoes. Some days, I run instead of walk; and before I realize, nights turn into days. But above this all, I am most grateful for the inspiring souls whom I have met and the relationships I have forged. My friends, you will be dearly missed! But remember, this is not our farewell. This is just the beginning.
One month countdown till I graduate and leave this city that I have called home for the past four years. While I am reluctant to leave this dynamic and inclusive environment that has given me abundant room for self expression and personal development, I am also tremendously excited to see what the future holds. Onwards and upwards is the direction to go! 📸: @jh_medium
